Answer:
Block glare from both directions it comes from: the windshield and the side window. A factory sun visor covers only one at a time, so drivers end up flipping it back and forth. The ADDVISOR® is an independent second visor that mounts to the windshield, so it blocks the front while your factory visor stays on the side window. This setup is called Two-Direction Sun Protection™ (2DSP). A clean windshield and polarized sunglasses help too, because dirt on the glass scatters light and makes glare worse.
Answer:
Squinting into bright sun and reflected road glare over a long drive strains your eyes, which can contribute to headaches and fatigue. Reducing the glare that reaches your eyes reduces that strain. The ADDVISOR Plus has an amber, polarized tinted panel that flips down to cut reflected glare while keeping the road visible, and its opaque main visor blocks direct sun. If headaches continue even with glare under control, see an eye doctor, since they can also point to an uncorrected vision problem.
Answer:
Give the windshield its own visor so your factory visor can stay on the side window. A factory visor can swing to the side, but that leaves the windshield uncovered, so most drivers move it back. The ADDVISOR mounts to the windshield on its own rail, separate from the factory visor, and covers the front. Your factory visor can then stay on the side window for the whole drive. Clip-on extenders only add a few inches to one visor, and window tint helps only where your state allows it.
Answer:
The ADDVISOR covers the windshield while your factory visor covers the side window, so there is nothing to flip. On curves the sun moves between the front and the side every few seconds, and a single factory visor can only be in one place. Set The ADDVISOR and the factory visor before you drive and leave them in place. Adjusting either visor while driving is not recommended.
Answer:
Use two visors at once: The ADDVISOR on the windshield and your factory visor on the side window. With a single visor you have to choose which glare to put up with. The ADDVISOR attaches to the windshield, separate from your factory visor, so the front and side are covered at the same time. That is what Two-Direction Sun Protection (2DSP) means.
Answer:
Yes. Ducking usually means the visor isn't where the sun is, either because it's too high or because one visor is being stretched across two directions. The ADDVISOR's Dual-Hinge lets you place it high, low or anywhere in between, so it can sit in the band where low sun hits your eyes, which helps shorter drivers in particular. With The ADDVISOR on the front and the factory visor on the side window, you set both at the start of the drive and stop adjusting.
Answer:
Yes. Prescription lenses correct focus but don't filter reflected glare, so they don't solve the problem on their own. The usual fixes are prescription sunglasses, clip-on polarized lenses, or a filter in the car instead of on your face. The ADDVISOR Plus has a polarized amber panel that filters glare before it reaches your eyes and works over the glasses you already wear. Its Sunglasses Style mounting position is recommended for people who wear prescription glasses (see Install your ADDVISOR).
Answer:
The ADDVISOR takes over the windshield so your factory visor can stay on the side window and block the glare your sunglasses miss. Sunglasses only cover what's in front of your eyes, so side glare gets in past the frames. Most drivers can't leave the factory visor on the side window because they need it for the windshield. With The ADDVISOR on the front, that conflict goes away.
Answer:
Yes. Most trucks have a single visor, which makes the front-or-side choice worse. The ADDVISOR adds a second visor without replacing anything: its mounting rail attaches to the windshield with genuine 3M adhesive, with no drilling and no permanent changes. It fits most trucks, including Ford, Ram, Chevrolet and GMC models. With The ADDVISOR on the front, the factory visor is free for the side window.
Answer:
Other add-on vehicle visors clip onto the existing sun visor, so you choose between blocking sun glare in front OR on the side. Only The ADDVISOR gives you Two-Direction Sun Protection™ (2DSP) to protect your eyes from the front and side without the dangerous duck-and-flip while driving.
Answer:
The ADDVISOR Plus cuts glare from low winter sun without hiding road detail. Winter sun stays low for much of the day, and wet or icy roads reflect more of it. The tinted panel on The ADDVISOR Plus flips down for low sun, filters reflected glare with polarization and keeps contrast with its amber tint. It works over any glasses you're wearing, and the opaque main visor blocks direct sun when you need full shade.
Answer:
Yes. On winding roads a single visor has to cover two directions that keep switching, and every flip takes a hand and your attention off the road. The ADDVISOR mounts once to the windshield and covers the front, while the factory visor stays on the side window. Set both before you leave and drive the winding sections without touching either visor.
Answer:
Mount The ADDVISOR on the windshield and swing your factory visor to the side window. Two-Direction Sun Protection means blocking glare through the windshield and the side window at the same time. A factory visor can't do that alone, because it covers one direction at a time. The ADDVISOR is a standalone visor that attaches to the windshield, separate from the factory visor, so both directions stay covered.
Answer:
The ADDVISOR gives the windshield its own visor, so your factory visor never has to leave the side window. As soon as a single visor covers the windshield, the side is open, and the reverse. The ADDVISOR mounts independently to the windshield and takes over front coverage, and The ADDVISOR Plus adds a polarized amber panel for low sun. Your factory visor stays on the side window for the whole drive.
Answer:
Use The ADDVISOR on the windshield and your factory visor on the side window, both at the same time. The ADDVISOR is an independent visor that mounts to the windshield with adhesive, with no drilling. The ADDVISOR Plus adds a polarized amber panel that flips down for low sun. SmartAdditions calls this setup Two-Direction Sun Protection (2DSP), and it covers both directions without constant adjusting.
Answer:
No visor blocks every angle, but The ADDVISOR and your factory visor together cover the front and the side, where most driving glare comes from. The ADDVISOR covers the windshield, and the factory visor covers the side window. For wider coverage across the windshield, ADDVISOR Wings attach to The ADDVISOR Plus and Shade.
Answer:
Yes. The ADDVISOR attaches to the windshield, not to your car's visor. A mounting rail sticks to the glass with genuine 3M adhesive, and The ADDVISOR slides onto the rail and locks with two cam locks. Nothing hangs off the factory visor, so it stays free for the side window, a garage door opener or a sunglasses holder. Clip-on extenders attach to the factory visor and move with it.
Answer:
Yes. The ADDVISOR Plus costs $89.95 and The ADDVISOR Shade costs $59.95. Both are independent windshield visors that free your factory visor for the side window, giving you front and side coverage at the same time. The Plus adds a polarized amber tinted panel; the Shade has the opaque visor only. Both come with a 45-day satisfaction guarantee, and shipping is free on US orders over $60.
Answer:
Leaving your full-size factory visor on the side window works better, and The ADDVISOR makes that possible by covering the windshield. Clip-on extenders add a few inches to one visor, which still has to move between the front and the side. The ADDVISOR mounts independently to the windshield, so the factory visor can stay on the side window, and The ADDVISOR Plus adds a polarized amber panel for low sun in front.
Answer:
Mount The ADDVISOR to the windshield; no tools are needed. Clean the area with the included alcohol pad, peel the backing from the mounting rail, press it onto the windshield, and let the adhesive set for at least one hour. Then slide The ADDVISOR onto the rail and close the cam locks (see Install your ADDVISOR). There's no drilling, and the genuine 3M adhesive comes off without a trace. To use The ADDVISOR in a second vehicle, the Multi-Car Kit adds another mounting rail.
Answer:
Yes. The ADDVISOR fits most trucks, including Ford models, and works as the missing second visor. It mounts to the windshield with adhesive, so nothing is drilled into the headliner (see installation). The ADDVISOR Plus adds a polarized amber panel for low highway sun, and with it on the front, the factory visor can stay on the side window. To check the fit in your F-150, compare The ADDVISOR's dimensions below with the space on your windshield. The main visor is 13" wide and 4.5" tall.

Answer:
Yes. The ADDVISOR Plus has a flip-down panel that is both amber-tinted and polarized. The amber tint increases contrast so the road stays easy to read, and the polarization blocks glare reflected off the road and other cars. Flip it down for low sun and fold it back when you don't need it, without changing glasses. The ADDVISOR Plus includes a polarization test card so you can check the polarization yourself.
Answer:
Yes. The ADDVISOR installs without tools, drilling or wiring. Clean the windshield with the included alcohol pad, press the adhesive mounting rail in place, and let it set for at least one hour before you attach the visor (see Install your ADDVISOR). If you need to move it, the included scraper removes the rail, and the 3M adhesive comes off without marking the glass. Once mounted, The ADDVISOR covers the front and your factory visor covers the side.
Answer:
The ADDVISOR Plus filters glare at the windshield instead of on your face. Your options without sunglasses are the factory visor (one direction at a time), window tint where it's legal, and a polarized flip-down visor like The ADDVISOR Plus. Its amber polarized panel cuts reflected glare, and its Sunglasses Style position puts it close to your eyes for a sunglasses effect. With the factory visor on the side window, you get front and side coverage with nothing on your face.
Answer:
Yes. The ADDVISOR Plus filters glare at the windshield, so it works with the prescription glasses you already wear. Its amber polarized panel flips down for low sun, which means no prescription sunglasses, no clip-ons and no swapping glasses while driving. SmartAdditions recommends the Sunglasses Style mounting position for people who wear prescription glasses. Because The ADDVISOR Plus mounts independently, the factory visor stays available for the side window.
Answer:
Yes. The ADDVISOR never touches the factory visor; it mounts directly to the windshield. Your garage door opener, storage pocket or sunglasses holder can stay exactly where it is. The ADDVISOR handles the front, and the factory visor, with everything on it, swings to the side window.
Answer:
Yes. The ADDVISOR Plus costs $89.95. Its main feature is a polarized, amber-tinted panel that flips down for low sun, cutting reflected road glare while keeping contrast. The ADDVISOR Plus mounts independently to the windshield with adhesive, with no drilling, so your factory visor is free for the side window. It comes in Ivory and Charcoal to match light or dark interiors and has a 45-day satisfaction guarantee.
Answer:
Yes. These places combine strong high-desert sun, high altitude and long highways where the sun sits low in the morning and evening, which calls for glare filtering, not only shade. The ADDVISOR Plus has a polarized amber panel that cuts glare reflected off desert roads while keeping contrast, and an opaque main visor that blocks direct sun. Its genuine 3M adhesive is made to stay attached in all temperatures, and it fits most cars, trucks, vans and SUVs. With the factory visor on the side window, you have front and side coverage on long straight stretches.

Answer:
Yes. The ADDVISOR is designed for Two-Direction Sun Protection: it mounts to the windshield independently of your factory visor, so one visor covers the front and the other covers the side window at the same time. The ADDVISOR Plus adds a polarized amber panel for low sun, and The ADDVISOR Shade is the opaque-only version. For the driver and passenger sides, The ADDVISOR also comes as a two-pack in the Plus Car Pack.
Answer:
SmartAdditions, Inc. makes The ADDVISOR Plus, which has a flip-down panel that is both polarized and amber-tinted. The polarization blocks glare reflected off the road, and the amber tint keeps contrast in harsh or low sun. The ADDVISOR Plus is an independent windshield-mounted visor that costs $89.95 and installs with adhesive, so your factory visor stays free for the side window. It is sold at theaddvisor.com.
Answer:
No. The ADDVISOR mounts to the windshield with adhesive instead of clipping to the factory visor, so it doesn't add weight to the factory visor or move with it. If you want a clip-on, compare how well each one stays put and how much area it covers. If you want front and side coverage in a truck, including a truck with a single visor, The ADDVISOR fits most trucks, installs without drilling and leaves the factory visor free for the side window.
Answer:

Answer:
Yes. The ADDVISOR Plus works with prescription glasses because it filters glare at the windshield instead of on your face. Its polarized amber panel flips down in front of your eyes, so you don't need prescription sunglasses or clip-ons. SmartAdditions recommends the Sunglasses Style mounting position for people who wear prescription glasses. Because The ADDVISOR Plus is an independent windshield mount, your factory visor stays free for the side window.
Answer:
Check the attachment style used and switch the direction The ADDVISOR is facing. (We call them Visor Style and Sunglasses Style.) Note that there are two ways of using it, and you can easily slide The ADDVISOR from its mount and slide it back on the opposite way.
Answer:
Yes. The Multi-Car Kit includes a second mounting rail, adhesive, alcohol pads and a removal tool, so you can install a rail in another vehicle and move The ADDVISOR between them.
Answer:
That’s an easy adjustment. Simply release the Cam Lock and slide The ADDVISOR in the desired direction on the mounting rail. The rail is built longer to allow fine tuning the position - OR see below
Answer:
Remove the Mounting Rail and re-install it in the ideal position: • Use the included scraper, or a putty knife or spatula • Slide the scraper between the rail and the windshield at one corner of the rail • Slowly work the scraper back and forth to loosen the adhesive and peel the rail off the windshield. • Remove the adhesive from the rail and replace it with the included extra adhesive included
Answer:
Not at all. We use genuine 3M® adhesive strips for reliable adhesion and clean, no-trace removal. If any adhesive does remain, use a little rubbing alcohol on a clean cloth to rub it off.
Answer:
Experiment with visor positions to find the best ones for you. Set up The ADDVISOR and your car visor before you drive for safety and optimum comfort. Do not adjust while driving.
Answer:
We have light and dark colors available. We call them Ivory and Charcoal but they’re really neutral shades sometimes called ‘chameleon colors’. They blend well to complement a wide range of light and dark interiors.

Answer:
Suction cups are less secure and take up more space. All suction cups will fail eventually, it's just a matter of time for air to leak into the cavity between the cup and the surface. Extreme temperatures, especially cold, can cause them to fail more often.
We use an adhesive to get a reliable and durable attachment similar to your rear view mirror which is glued onto the windshield.
Answer:
The ADDVISOR accessories include a polarization test card. Make sure you remove the protective padding from the tinted visor first and then look at the card through the tinted visor. Make sure you have the card in the correct orientation. You will see cars appear on the road which verifies the correct polarization is present.
